Meeting of Contact Persons of the Different Units in Asia-Oceania for the 150th Jubilee of the Icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help
The contact persons of the different units for the 150th jubilee of the Icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in Asia-Oceania held its second meeting at the Redemptorist Provincial House in Bangkok, Thailand last November 2 – 4, 2015. The meeting began in the morning of November 2 with a contemplation of the Icon and the meaning of the Jubilee among the delegates. In the afternoon of the same day, the delegates began to share their respective units’ Jubilee program and activities. In the morning of the second day, the delegates continued the sharing of their different unit’s plans and activities. In the afternoon of the second day Joey Echano, CSsR., the Asia-Oceania representative for the General Commission reported about the programs and projects of the General Commission on the jubilee like the pilgrimage in Rome, reverse pilgrimage, website, OMPH congress, video project and others. On the last day, the delegates continued to discuss the plans of the General Commission. The final session in the morning was devoted for the common plans for the conference such as a book and DVD on the devotion to Our Mother of Perpetual Help in Asia-Oceania and the international congress in Manila on April, 2017. In preparation for the DVD project, a seminar-workshop in cinematography will be held in Bangkok on January 2016 for all the media production person/s of the different units. The meeting concluded with a Eucharist at 12 pm of the last day. The delegates were happy and contented after the meeting as they learned a lot from each other’s experiences and were able to support each other towards meaningful celebrations of the Jubilee in each one’s unit.
