Being the patron of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Mission of Auckland, New Zealand, Mother Mary is honoured and respected by every member of the mission and in every family of the Mission. We pray the Rosary and Novena of our Mother of Perpetual Help after the Holy Mass, on every Friday of the month to get the heavenly intercession of Mother Mary at the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and intercessory prayers. On the first Friday of every month, during the night vigil, we make sure that we get protection and the intercession of the Mother of Perpetual Help by saying the Rosary and Novena at the beginning of the session itself. In the family units we have the Rosary and prayer meeting every week or every month. In the month of May we gave importance in saying the Rosary every day in our families and got special protection and love from Mother Mary.

On the 8th of September this year, the birthday of Our Lady was celebrated with the Holy Mass, which was followed by the Novena to Our Mother of Perpetual Help and Ladeenju. There was Paachoru brought by many families which was blessed and shared by the church community after the church celebration. To honour our Mother of Perpetual Help, this year we started the 10 days Novena, Rosary and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament after the Holy Mass on the 30th of September which was completed on the 11th of October with the celebration of the Parish Feast, First Holy Communion and Conformation of 19 children by Bishop Mar Bosco Puthur. The members of the Syro-Malabar Mission believe that it is Mary, Mother of Perpetual Help who brings the members together and leads them to Jesus to do His will with her heavenly intercession and Motherly affection.
