Karavaloor
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy” (Mt 5:7).
On December 13, Fr. Joseph Valachathinakathu, the Vice-Provincial of the Liguori province, inaugurated the Jubilee Year of Mercy at Karavaloor, by lighting the lamp. He reminded the people of God, quoting Pope Francis, Jesus “is nothing but love, a love given gratuitously… Everything in Him speaks of mercy. Nothing in Him is devoid of compassion.” He said that by frequenting the Sacrament of Reconciliation one can experience the Divine Mercy.
Puthiyakavu
In line with the exhortation of Pope Francis, on December 13 we inaugurated the Jubilee Year
of Mercy at Puthiyakavu St. Francis Xavier Church by hoisting the flag and opening the Holy Door. At 6.25 am we began our ceremony. After the flag hoisting we came to the church in procession reciting psalm 136, the psalm that shows the infinite mercy of God. Then we opened the holy door and entered the church. After entering the church we took an oath that we were given before. Then we showed the special message given by His Excellency Mar George Alenchery, our Arch Bishop, regarding the jubilee year of mercy, through LCD projecter.
