Fr. Joy Thottankara C.Ss.R. the Chaplain of Syro-Malabar Catholic Mission Auckland was officially invited to brief the mission in New Zealand to the Synod of Bishops of Syro-Malabar Church. Frs. Joy T and Joseph V. J, the Vice-Provincial went to Mt. St. Thomas Kakkanadu on 9th of January. His Beatitude Mar George Cardinal Alencherry, the Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Church welcomed Fr. Joy T. and Joseph V.J. Then Fr. Joy apprised the mission in New Zealand with a special reference to Catholic Mission Auckland , their difficulties, dreams and aspiration to all the bishops and other members of the Synod. He thanked all the bishops who support the mission in various ways on behalf of the Syro-Malabar faithful in New Zealand. They had the dinner together with the bishops.
