Syro-Malabar Qurbana in our shrine in Rome

On 21st April, Mar Raphael Thattil the auxiliary bishop of Trissur celebrated Syro-Malabar Qurbana in our shrine in Rome. Fr. Stephen Chirapanath the incharge of the Syro Malabar community in Rome was also present. During the homily Mar Thattil spoke about the history of the Perpetual Help Novena in Kerala and the devotion of Mary in our Syro Malabar catholic tradition. He gratefully remembered the works of Redemptorists in Kerala and in a special way Cardinal Mar Varkey Vithayathil. He spoke to the people both in Italian and Malayalam. Many priests from the Generalate community and many priests from Kerala working/studying in Rome, and so many faithful of other languages were there to experience the Syro Malabar Qurbana. Fr. Arturo the rector of the Generalate community gifted an icon of our Mother of Perpetual Help to the Bishop in memory of celebrating Syro Malabar Qurbana and Novena in St. Alphonsus Church where the original icon of Mother of Perpetual Help is restored and venerated today.
