An authentic and genuine life grows like a sturdy tree. And like a tree, it grows slowly. Every time you make a different and better decision, it grows a little. Every time you choose to do the right thing, even when nobody would find out, it grows a little. Every time you act with compassion, relinquish your right to strike back, take a courageous stand, admit a fault or accept responsibility, it grows a little.
It was awonderful opportunity for me to take participatein the training programme for the Formators, held at Nava Jyoty Niketan, Patna, from January 24th to March 21st. We were 18 participants, 10 fathers and 8 sisters. This programme was very useful and made us aware of the need to respond, giving special attention to the ever-changing and challenging social, cultural, and religious situation of our country. We had theoretical inputs and practical sessions for personal awareness and growth. Our different modules were psycho-spiritual integration, holistic awareness, basic counseling skills, God- oriented vocational motivation, and discernment of vocation, spiritual direction skills, personality types and growth, cultural diversity and integration, methodology of formation, effective use of media and communication, awareness of social and ecological issues, and skills in understanding the young people in the context of formation etc. Moreover we also had the opportunity to visit some historical places like Nalanda, Bodh Gaya, etc.
