“There is sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming gratitude …and unspeakable love.” When I see the tears in the eyes of the participants of the retreat these verses of Washington Irving come to my mind. The presence of Fr. Tony Kuzhippillil in our midst, was a blessing for all of us. He has been available for us day and night, spending time in preaching the Word of God, celebrating the Holy Mass, listening to Confession and counseling since September 3, 2016. During his service in September – 8, 11, and 16 – we had common retreat and Adoration in the auditorium. Around 500 people attended each session. It was really a time of blessing and conversion. We could experience the healing touch of God’s love and mercy in and through the various ministries. The amazing thing was that many received the Sacrament of Reconciliation just like me. The healing I received in the Sacrament of Confession was unexplainable. The Eucharistic Adoration gave us a special divine experience; many healings happened in that service. The talks were interesting, and Fr. Tony succeeded in helping our faithful to build a special bond with Christ our Lord and the Church.

His commitment for family counseling and the Holy Mass conducted in the priest’s residence were a great blessing for us. He spent time with the youth and the children. Even though he had to travel thousands of kilometers each day, he never showed any signs of tiredness. The tears at the time of departure from each centre were the sign of our gratitude for his presence and service to all of us. All shared with one voice that it had been a great blessing for them and thanked the Lord.
