The young fathers meet that held at Ligouri Bhavan from September 27-29, 2019 was a memorable one. In spite of busy schedules and ministry 18 young fathers came together for the meeting and it turned into a joyful event. The get together began with a picnic and that made strong familial bond between confreres. It took us back to our seminary days and refreshed our minds and body.
On the second day of the meeting we had an input session from Tomin Sir, who opened our eyes to see how youngsters and children think and believe and on what we can do for them in our youth ministry. Later in the evening we had vocation promoters meeting and in which we all discussed about various ways to attract children to religious vocation.
The third day of the meeting began with a session from Fr. Provincial in which he challenged the confreres pm bringing creativity in ministry rather than continuing the routines. He asked each and every one of us to remove the conventional ideas and set new initiatives and goals in the ministries we are engaged in. Later we had an evaluation on youth ministry in which each one was asked to share their experience in the youth ministry. All felt proud of being in the ministry. The confreres approach to the children and the youth were well appreciated. And many suggested to bring creativity and variety in taking classes.
The three days young fathers meet were really a spirit filled days. Being with confreres itself brought tremendous joy and that joy had led us to take youth ministry in a little more seriously and sincerely.
