We, the Santhome Minor Seminarians, are so happy to share with you, two great events that occurred in the month of February 2020.
Firstly, we had five of our brothers enter the Postulancy. It was on Wednesday, 12 February 2020. In the evening, the Holy Qurbana was celebrated by our Vicar Provincial Rev. Fr. Poulose Thettayil, C.Ss.R. He preached on the importance of formation and the need of having a radical following of Jesus the Redeemer. The ceremony took place soon after the homily. The candidates professed their intentions and were given the blessed chain. After the ceremony, we had a felicitation dinner arranged in their honour. We had a great time. The new Postulants are: Ajith Jose Thuppalanjiyil (St. Joseph’s Forane Church, Vayattuparamba, Thalassery), Jowan Francis Thelakkadan (St. Francis Xavier’s Church, Cherannalloor, Ernakulam-Angamaly), Jithin Joshy Kilukken (St. Sebastian’s Church, Marygiri, Ernakulam-Angamaly), Don Tomy Veliyathuparambil (Little Flower Church, Thirumudikunnu, Ernakulam-Angamaly), Alen Paul Puthankudy (St. George Church, Puthenpally, Ernakulam-Angamaly).
Secondly, we had set apart a day for a ‘Thanksgiving Mass’ as a kind of conclusion of the Academic Year 2019-2020. It was held on 23 February 2020. We invited our teachers who helped us with classes throughout the last academic year. Fr. Bijo Meppurathu C.Ss.R., the Director of Students, celebrated the Holy Qurbana and spoke about the season of Lent. After that, there was an academic evaluation made by the teachers. A sumptuous lunch was prepared for the teachers. It was yet another joyful event that took place in our house. The students are presently during their exams. So keep them in your prayers.
